Nobody wishes to die,
but nobody wants to live, either.
Within a zombified society,
where passion has left the ether,
I stand before the fallen leaves
that were once flourishing with life.
I stand before the long-forgotten dreams,
that reach beyond our heaven’s light.
I stand before the unsettling memories—
the nightmares that haunt me
on each dreadful night.
And I still fight, even if it kills me.
I still fight, even if I’m to die.
My body may give up,
but my heart will never surrender.
And until that day comes,
I will live on forever.
I will live on in the memories,
forgotten by the many,
and I will live on in the memories
remembered by the few...
But they are all memories too,
blended into a seamless reality
and overlooked by a chaotic society.
I won’t allow myself
to die inside this blender,
torn to pieces while trying
to keep myself together.
I will escape the mass flood
of a broken modern society,
and build myself an ark,
so that it won't consume me.
