I caught a leaf in the midst of midwinter—
the rarest kind one could ever find.
A fallen leaf among the many snowflakes,
and to me, it seemed a lot like fate.
She was beautiful at first sight,
as her smile gleamed toward me.
Everything about her seemed so right,
even if she was a fallen leaf.
That’s what made her so unique—
the fact that she was different.
She stood out to me,
like a wave in the open sea.
She captured my heart,
as I listened to her speak—
a sound so delicate and sweet,
as she was my fallen leaf.
