We forget sometimes
how important it is
to live in the moment—
to breathe one second at a time,
to wrap our minds around the now,
the lesson that we are to learn today,
not tomorrow.
And how are we to do this—
if we are not allowed
to realize that tomorrow
is nothing but
another yesterday
that has not happened
yet?
I know for a fact
that what’s intact
is the lack of education
we seem to allow
the younger generation to have.
We fill their minds with nonsense—
that blinds them
into a cognitive relapse
of what was said and done yesterday,
instead of what could have been done
today.
Day after day,
we fight to stay alive—
to hold onto what we feel is in our right,
something we need,
the materialistic greed
of today’s corrupted society
that holds no seed
of hope and prayer
for those who care enough
to change things for the greater good.
And I know—
it’s tough
to see a world
that’s falling apart.
But open your eyes, people,
and see
that the world
is not your enemy.
And I know for a fact
that what should be intact
is how far people would go
to bring back what we used to know—
and how we used to feel.
But let’s be real here
for a minute—
and change the world
and all that’s in it.
One last time.
One final fight.
But this time...
