An Angel In The Air

I saw an angel in the air,

as I sat here on my floor.

All I could do was blindly stare,

as she flew in through my door.

I couldn’t help but see my life

flash before my very own eyes;

all the world sparkled in turn,

and the pain I had, gone and burned.

She took my hands, and we flew away,

soaring through the starry space.

I had no idea where we’d find ourselves,

though I wished not for her to tell.

We roamed and roamed the outer sea

of what I thought to be a memory.

It was so clear, so much like reality,

but I knew it was only a dream.

Though, how could I truly tell?

Perhaps my mind had drifted down a well,

and found itself through an open door,

upon what I thought to be my floor.

And the angel in the air

was a lost and distant friend—

a curious girl I knew who’d care

‘til the very, very end.

She would be all things I adored,

as my spirit soared and soared,

through the galaxy, to each and all the stars,

and I’d go there, too, wherever you are.
