Wherever You Go

If you’ve but one eye,

then you can see just fine.

But if you carry two,

then I am just like you!

We are the same, I’d say.

We play us a similar game.

We both have smart noses,

so we can smell the roses.

And we’ve got a thinkin’ brain,

so that we may feel a little pain.

And we’ve got two strong feet,

to march to our heart’s thumpin’ beat.

We’ve got arms and hands—

two of them, each with a plan.

And two legs to match our feet,

to have them movin’ to the beat.

And we’ve got ourselves a head,

which helps us look straight ahead.

I’m not sure how we’re not alike,

and I ask myself why we always fight.

And most of us look and never see,

the grass is green on both sides of the sea.

But there is one thing I will always know:

Life will follow you wherever you go.
